Annual General Meeting – Announcement

The Council of the Association of Meat Inspectors has taken the decision to postpone the Annual General Meeting which was scheduled for March 21st at the Aztec Hotel, Bristol.
With the current uncertainty surrounding the Coronavirus situation, and the advice on gatherings in public constantly under review, we feel this is in the best interests of our members. This is based on the advice that has come from the UK Government’s Chief Medical Officer.

We will notify all members when the meeting has been rescheduled, and would like to thank you for your understanding.

Parasite Refresher

One of our Official Vets in the Westcountry, is also a very talented artist, and she has started producing a series of drawings of the life cycles of Parasites. The blog is called Wiscat Pereira and can be found here

So far Catarina has produced artwork for Taenia Ovis, Taenia Multiceps and Taenia Hydatigena.

2020 Annual General Meeting

This year’s Annual General Meeting has been brought forward to Saturday March 21st 2020, due to Easter being in the middle of April. Further details can be found under the events tab.

55th Annual Seminar

The dates for this year’s seminar are Friday 11th September to Sunday 13th September 2020. Provisional details of speakers and subjects will be added to the seminar page.

A quick reminder to all members to keep our Registrar, Michelle Barrett up to date with your contact details. This will ensure your Divisional Secretaries can keep you updated on the happenings in your area, and The Meat Hygienist will continue to be delivered. Thanks.

AMI Council Meetings

The AMI Council meets four times per year, in April, June, September and December. The meetings cover a wide range of topics, including the management of the Association and our work as Stakeholder’s for consultations in both the UK and Europe.

Any member who wishes to raise a topic or point for discussion, or to comment on matters published in The Meat Hygienist, is invited to contact their Divisional Secretary. They will then present your requests or comments to Council.
